Edinburgh man arrested after attempting to flee Columbus police

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A wanted Edinburgh man is under arrest after he attempted to flee from Columbus police officers on Sunday afternoon.
Shortly before 3 p.m., CPD officers observed Trent A. Teltoe, 56, outside of a residence in the 3800 block of Candlelight Drive, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The officers confirmed an active warrant for Teltoe’s arrest out of Johnson County. When officers attempted to make contact with Teltoe, he fled the area on foot, Harris said. With the assistance of a Columbus Police Department canine, Teltoe was located hiding under a nearby mobile home. He taken into custody a short time later without further
incident.

Teltoe was placed under arrest and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was remanded on the following preliminary charges:
— Johnson County Warrant
— Resisting Law Enforcement
