  • the man driving the Ronnie’s Body Shop truck for offering to help me when my car broke down in the cold on Tuesday morning.
  • Chris Doyle for the chocolates and the Jon Stevens family for the basket of snacks during the holidays, from the window clerks at the post office.
  • Ben Wagner for his service to the community as a top-notch director of parks and recreation, showing integrity and professionalism all the way.
  • the person who found my keys in the Kroger parking lot and turned them in to the office, from Norma Houser.
  • Christi at the Cameo Room for the ride home on a cold day, from Vera.
  • Linda at Kroger who called to let me know I left my checkbook at the store, from Ted Hooker.
  • the Hargett family for opening up the Hartsville Fire Station so we could stay warm and Pat Hendershot for driving us to the station, from Ruth and

  • Barb and John Hackman for the food, from the county highway plow truck drivers.
  • Kroger for delivering the stuffed animals for our patients, from the pediatrics staff at CRH.

  • Mayor Brown for her honesty and transparency, from a grateful constituent.
  • Columbus Regional Hospital 2 Tower staff for being patient and kind to Etta from Thursday through Saturday and for the checkup call, from Etta Bryant.

Onions to…

  • the drivers who tailgate on the icy roads.
  • the school system that passed up the makeup day waiver from the state.
  • officials who claim to love Columbus but do everything they can to change it.
  • radio stations that give partial updated information on the radio about roads and closings and then tell listeners to go their website.
  • the church-based assistance program that belittles those who seek assistance.
  • whoever continues to grade Indiana 11 when there is no snow or ice on the pavement.
  • ungrateful citizens who have no idea what it is like to drive a plow truck.
  • The Republic for lumping a bunch of Orchids to one elected official and not for other politicians.
  • the basketball team that is not completing the full 180 days of school.
