• John and Barb Hackman, family and grandchildren for preparing the turkeys for the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department Thanksgiving dinner, from the men and women at the Sheriff's Department.

• Dr. Brooke Case and her staff at Athens Animal Clinic for showing their support by attending the groundbreaking ceremony this past week for the Bartholomew County Humane Society, from Joy Dvorak.

• Cody Wells and Craig Allman from the Seymour INDOT office who helped me understand the details of road development and made me realize it can't be done overnight.

• Diana Hodnett at the Recycling Center for coming in Saturday to help with Amnesty Day, from Rex and Sara.

• all my friends and family for all the birthday gifts and cards, from Alvera McNicholas-Taylor.

• housekeeper Carol Gleason at the hospital for being so pleasant and friendly, from a grateful patient, Hazel.

• The Republic for not printing Onions on Sunday.
