$1,000 reward offered for information about robbery

Follow The Republic:

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the armed robber who held up a business in Eastbrook Plaza last Friday.

The reward is being offered through Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana, a nonprofit group coordinated by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Shortly after 6 p.m. Friday, a suspect displayed a handgun after entering the Check n’ Go and forced all the employees into a bathroom located in the back of the building, Harris said.

The suspect, described as a black male about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build who appeared to be in his late 20s, made off with an undetermined amount of cash, police said. No injuries were reported during the robbery at 2634 Eastbrook Plaza.

As of noon Tuesday, investigators had no new developments to report in their search for the suspect, Columbus Police spokesman Sgt. Matt Harris said.

While anonymous tips may be made to Crime Stoppers, only information submitted directly to the Indianapolis-based organization is eligible for cash rewards.

Tips may be made toll-free by calling 1-800-222-8477 and referring to Crime Stoppers case number 140805SR.
