Firefighters from five departments responded to a residential fire that broke out at 5:10 a.m. Saturday at 4954 Vance Street, Columbus. Upon their arrival, firefighters observed smoke and fire coming from the single-story residence.

The Columbus Township Fire Department, in a press release, indicated about $60,000 in structure damage and another $20,000 in damage to contents.

Firefighters were able to prevent the house fire from spreading to a neighboring apartment, which sustained only minor heat damage. No one was injured.
