TAYLORSVILLE — A two-car accident Monday morning near Taylorsville caused the U.S. 31 northbound lanes to be closed or restricted for more than an hour.
About 6:35 a.m., Redia Martin, 57, of Brooks, Ky., was driving a Buick south on U.S. 31 and was getting ready to turn left onto the ramp for northbound Interstate 65, according to Maj. Todd Noblitt, spokesman for the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department.
Martin turned into the path of a PT Cruiser driven by Sherrie Teltoe, 57, Hope, who was northbound on U.S. 31. The cars hit nearly head-on, Noblitt said.
Both drivers were taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for complaints of pain. Hospital spokeswoman Paige Harden said they were treated and released.
Don't settle for a preview.
