SEYMOUR — A Columbus man was one of two people arrested over the weekend in Jackson County for allegedly transporting a meth lab in a vehicle.

David Hill, 42, Columbus, and Leslie C. Mitchell, 24, Seymour, were booked into Jackson County Jail on Saturday on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, violation of legend drug act and other charges.

Bonds were set at $100,005.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Officer Adam Nicholson said Hill and Mitchell are accused of transporting a meth lab inside a black Camaro as they drove along North County Road 600E north of Seymour.

Lt. Andy Wayman said it is unclear whether they were planning to make the drug as the car moved or were taking the equipment and materials for use elsewhere.
