Three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday in the Tipton Lakes area.
The accident occurred at 6:15 p.m. next to Oakbrook City Park on Goeller Boulevard. The wreckage kept the busy road closed for more than an hour from County Road 350W to Oakbrook Drive.
Jimmy Callahan, 18, of Sunland Road, was driving a Toyota Supra east when his car began to fishtail and crossed over into the westbound lane, where it sideswiped a Hyundai Sonata driven by Liu Feng, 35, of Oakbrook Drive, according to police reports.
The impact caused the Toyota to spin and collide with the front of a westbound Lexus hybrid, driven by Daniel Clarence, 53, of West Grandview Drive.
Callahan and a 17-year-old female passenger were taken to Columbus Regional Hospital with minor injuries, said Sgt. Morgan Horner, the investigating officer for Columbus Police Department. Horner said both the driver and passenger were knocked unconscious and had no recollection of the accident.
Clarence suffered cuts to the back of his head and refused treatment. Feng was uninjured.
Horner said wet pavement appeared to play a role in the accident, and there were no skidmarks to analyze.
