A two-vehicle wreck Friday in northeastern Jackson County left four local residents injured, including one who was taken to an Indianapolis hospital with compound fractures to her leg.
Lorri Vondielingen, 47, of Seymour was treated at the scene of the wreck in the 12000 block of East County Road 1000N by Jackson County Emergency Medical Services personnel, according to a news release from Jackson County Officer Dustin Steward.
She was then taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour for evaluation before being transferred by ambulance to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after the wreck, which was reported at 12:38 p.m. Friday.
Steward said Vondielingen was a passenger in a blue 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Derrick Martin, 41, of Seymour, which was involved in the wreck with a gold 2003 Dodge Dakota pickup driven east on County Road 1000N by Amanda Hadley, 24, of North Vernon.
Hadley, who complained of hand, arm and ankle pain, and her two young children were treated and taken to Schneck Medical Center by ambulance personnel for evaluation of injures.
Martin, who was not injured in the wreck, told police he was pulling north out of a driveway onto the road with the intention of driving west and did not see Hadley’s vehicle, which struck Martin’s vehicle in the driver’s side.
The crash left the road closed for about two hours as wreckers with 31 Wrecker, Seymour, towed both vehicles.
