COLUMBUS, Ind. — Fourth Street Bar & Grill will become smoke free starting Aug. 1.
Owner Kurt Schwarze said the decision was difficult for him and his wife. Ultimately, they decided that eliminating smoking was the preference of the majority of its customers and staff.
The state enacted a statewide, indoor smoking ban July 1 on most indoor establishments. However, the ban does not apply to bars, meaning Schwarze's establishment did not have to ban smoking.
