Twelve years ago, David and Brenda Simmons got in the wine-making business. This month they debuted their 450 North Brewing Company beer at their winery/restaurant/brewery in northern Bartholomew County.

The brewing company is at 811 E. County Road 450N.

Sip a 5-ounce pour of all five brews — The sampler at left — for just $7.50 with a beer flight. Here’s what’s on tap:

1 Harvest Wheat Ale: An American summer wheat ale, this straw-colored variety’s fruity flavor is complemented by a light orange hue and hoppy aroma.

Pairs with: Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich

2 Scarecrow India Pale Ale: A combination of anthanum, Cascade, centennial and magnum hops give this pale ale its bitter, dry flavor.

Pairs with: Classic Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza

3 Road Rage Ale: Brewed using Cascade, centennial and Simcoe hops, Road Rage is an intense golden, amber ale with a citrus aroma and crisp taste.

Pairs with: Brewery nachos

4 Copperhead Road Ale: A Belgian amber ale, Copperhead Road has a warm, malt flavor complemented by a sweet, hoppy freshness.

Pairs with: BBQ Chicken Pizza

5 Dog Day Brown Ale: A smooth, dark ale, Dog Day Brown is a light, malty beer with a hint of caramel and cocoa.

Pairs with: Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich
