7 win junior divisions in city tennis tournament

Champions were crowned in seven junior divisions this weekend in the Columbus city tennis tournament.

Anthony Sanders won the boys 18 division with a 7-5, 6-3 win against Rahul Jha. Noah Veit downed Anay Gangal 6-4, 6-1 in the boys 16 division, and Johan Rockey topped Josiah Rockey 6-2, 6-4 in the boys 14 division.

Paige Littrell won the girls 18 division with a 6-3, 4-6, (7-5) win against Madelyn Sanders. Madelyn Sanders also played in the girls 16 division and beat Alexa Wilkinson 6-2, 6-1.

Brett Stinger won the Junior 14 division with a 6-1 win against Isaac Tebbe. Bryce Stringer blanked Sanjana Penmathsa 4-0 to win the Junior 10 division.

Play in adult divisions continues this week. The men’s and women’s singles and doubles finals will be played Wednesday evening.
