Access to Arts for AIDS events to be easy despite Columbus' Festival of Lights Parade

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Saturday's Arts for AIDS events at Mill Race Center, 900 Lindsey St., can be easily reached by the public, event organizers said, although nearby streets will be closed due to Saturday's Festival of Lights Parade.

The events will be a family event of music and storytelling from 2:30 to 4 p.m. with $5 admission at the door. The dinner fundraiser, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., will feature the art of Zimbabwean sculptor Edward Rumano. Tickets are $60 per person.

Attendees of Arts for AIDS are asked to enter Mill Race Center through the Eighth and Lindsey Street entrance via the roundabout from 11th Street. Attendees can also access Mill Race Center by turning onto Carl Miske Drive off Indianapolis Road. (Mill Race Center cannot be accessed by driving west on Eighth Street because it will be closed between Lindsey and Washington Streets.)

Volunteers will be directing traffic at the entrance to the Mill Race Center parking lot, which will be open to Arts for AIDS organizers and attendees only.
