COLUMBUS, Ind. — The number of people with Alzheimer's disease in Indiana is expected to increase by 20 percent from 2000 to 2020, and another 10 percent by 2025. It already is the nation's sixth-leading cause of death.
Columbus-area residents who hope to fight that trend can help by raising money at the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's.
This year's walk is 1:30 p.m. Sunday, beginning at Mill Race Center, 900 Lindsey St. It is one of 13 walks in Indiana and 650 communities nationwide.
