JUST like spring, the fall months are a busy time for us here at Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District.
This fall we have many events for you to check out, including our semi-annual Amnesty Day, celebrating America Recycles Day and a reuse/recycled art show.
On Nov. 15, we will celebrate America Recycles Day by catching you out recycling. We will be rewarding those “caught” with a reusable
shopping bag and a chance to earn additional prizes. Look for our EnviroMobile at various recycling locations on this day for a prize.
The waste management district also will have its semi-annual Amnesty Day, set for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center.
Bartholomew County residents are welcome to bring the following hard-to-dispose of items for recycling at no charge;
Amnesty days not only are a fantastic way to help the environment by disposing of these items properly, but residents can save up to $50 in disposal fees.
Are you looking for a unique gift for someone special on your holiday list this year? Look no further than the Déjà Vu Art and Fine Craft Show, which will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at The
Commons.
This year, there will be more than 40 artists with beautiful pieces of fine art for sale, all made from reused or recycled materials. Be sure to check it out,
