Purdue Extension Bartholomew County will offer an information session about the emerald ash borer and how homeowners and communities should plan to deal with an infestation.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Thursday in the conference room at the Bartholomew County Public Library. Staff or representatives of homeowner, neighborhood or community associations, as well as officials from townships and municipalities, are invited.
Emerald ash borer has not yet been found in Bartholomew County, but it is present in three adjacent counties. The pest can be expected to kill all unprotected ash trees. While information on damage control has been available for many years through Purdue University and Indiana DNR sources, it will be shared Thursday by Agriculture & Natural Resources Educator Kris Medic.
As space is limited, participants are asked to call Purdue Extension Bartholomew County at 812-379-1665 to register by 4 p.m. Thursday.
