B-17 visit a highlight of Aviation Day

Follow The Republic:

Columbus residents can fly back in time this Saturday at Aviation Day 2014, an effort by Columbus Municipal Airport to give everyone a chance to take to the skies in historic aircraft.

A highlight of the day will be a visit by a commemorative Air Force B-17, said airport director Brian Payne.

Although Aviation Day will be 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the airport, the B-17 will arrive at the airport Friday for tours and rides, continuing those through Sunday, Payne said.
