Police: City's main roads passable, but slick

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Columbus Snow Force now has been out since midnight, treating and clearing main city streets, police said.

"Main roads are passable but should be considered slick in spots," said Lt. Matt Myers, spokesman for the Columbus Police Department. "Secondary city streets are now being cleared. Most of these roads are still snow covered."

No accidents had been reported at as 6:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, schools across Bartholomew County have closed for the day. Some businesses have also closed, or announced delayed openings for today.
