County doesn't make final list for prekindergarten pilot

Follow The Republic:

Gov. Mike Pence announced today that Allen, Jackson, Lake, Marion and Vanderburgh counties have been selected for Indiana's prekindergarten pilot program to prepare low-income 4-year-olds for success in school.

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. was among the 18 counties that were finalists to become a pilot site.

The state is now working with the Indiana Family Social Services Administration to design the program in preparation to launch it in early 2015.
