COLUMBUS, Ind. — A family dispute in which a rifle discharged during a struggle resulted in the arrest of a Bethel Village resident, police said.
Douglas R. Hobbs, 49, of 447 Dawson St., was arrested on charges of criminal recklessness while armed with a weapon and intimidation with a deadly weapon, both Class D felonies; and resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor.
At 4:22 p.m. Tuesday, the Bartholomew County Emergency Operations Center received the first report of a shot being fired at the subdivision three miles south of Columbus, off State Road 11.
