County's unemployment rate ranks fourth lowest in state

Bartholomew County’s unemployment rate was 5 percent in January, the fourth lowest rate in the state, according to preliminary data released today by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

Indiana’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped 0.4 percent to 6.4 percent in January, and is now at the lowest point since September 2008. The rate was 6.3 percent then.
