Benefit concert slated for next month in Columbus

SEYMOUR — A CMV benefit concert is planned for May 4 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 655. The event is from 12:30 to 7 p.m.

Live music, a silent auction, raffles and door prizes are planned. Two bands from Columbus, Mayan Miscalculation and The House Burners, will perform.

Admission is $5 per person for those age 18 and older. Those age 17 and younger are admitted free.

Proceeds from the fundraiser go to the Brendan B. McGinnis Congenital CMV Foundation for the fourth Making Tracks Together Family Gathering planned for June 26-29 at Great Wolf Lodge in Charlotte, N.C. Congenital CMV is a viral condition in infants that can hinder their growth and development.

Families spend four days meeting with experts to learn about helping their CMV-affected child at the family gathering event.
