Brinegar wins Central Zone swim event

Michael Brinegar won the one-mile swim for 11 & Under Boys on the final day of the 2012 USA Swimming Central Zone 14&U Championships on Monday at the Donner Park Pool.

Brinegar’s time was 20:59.25. His Donner Swim Club teammate, Sam Russell, was 10th in 24:01.75.

Nicholas Green was 10th in the 10&U Boys half-mile swim in 12:34.25. Betsy King was second in the 10&U Girls half-mile swim in 11:38.10, while Oliva Morlok was 11th in 12:44.20.

Indiana won the open water competition with 251 points, followed by Missouri Valley and Ohio with 200 each, Lake Erie (84), Ozark (67), Oklahoma (62) and Midwestern (30).
