A report of a grass fire Saturday south of Brownstown led to the arrest of a man on charges including the manufacture of methamphetamine.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, deputies found Brandon L. Darkis, 31, of Brownstown, in the area where the fire was reported with items associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Darkis was arrested on preliminary charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of two or more precursors and possession of a hypodermic needle.
Indiana State Police Meth Lab Team, Brownstown Police Department and Brownstown Fire Department also responded.
