Charles Henderson, 41, was arrested and taken to Bartholomew County jail Saturday on preliminary felony drug charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.

Columbus Police Department officers John Searle and Sarah Goins stopped a vehicle at about 9 p.m. Saturday. Henderson was in the passenger seat.

When Searle went to his car to run warrant checks, Goins stayed near Henderson and noticed him speaking quietly and reaching behind the seat and into the car’s center console, according to CPD reports. The officers searched Henderson and found a cylinder container with controlled substances and two small bags containing white powder.

Henderson was released from Bartholomew County Jail on $10,000 bond.
