Josh Major scored 23 points to lead the Central seventh-grade boys basketball team past Northside 40-36.

K.T. Webb added seven points, and J.D. Harris scored five.

Northside was led by Trey Vincent’s 18 points, and Tyler Thomas scored 16.

Northside won the B game 20-19. Nate Lehfeldt-Ehlinger scored 10 points for Northside.

Central seventh-grade girls split two games

The Central seventh-grade girls basketball team lost to Center Grove 26-25.

Kamryn Cantu led Central with 14 points.

Central also defeated Brown County 32-16 as Emma Perry led the way with 16 points.

Jennings County

Macy Roth scored 15 points to lead the Jennings County seventh-grade girls White team past South Decatur


Brooklyn Gaines scored nine points for Jennings County, Morgan King added six, and Emma Shockley scored five.

In other Jennings County girls basketball news, the seventh-grade girls Blue team dropped a 19-11 decision to Edinburgh.

Jadyn Henry scored four points for Jennings County, while Peyton Hignite, Laura Mahoney and Tiffany Dillon each scored two.

The eighth-grade girls White team beat South Decatur 29-27 as Darian Jarvis tallied 11 points while Sidney Gerkin scored nine for Jennings County.

Hauser girls struggle against Morristown, Triton Central  

The Hauser seventh- and eighth-grade girls teams were swept in a pair of games against Morristown and Triton Central.

The eighth-grade team dropped a 42-14 decision to Morristown. Ali Hoover scored eight points for Hauser, and Hailey Lange and Kortney Wallace each added three points.

The seventh-grade team lost 32-8 to Morristown as Sarah Tedder scored seven points for Hauser.

Hauser’s eighth-grade team lost to Triton Central 37-15. Kortney Wallace led Hauser with five points. The seventh-grade team was beaten by Triton Central 30-9. Alana Owen led Hauser with four points, and Sarah Tedder scored three points.

Elementary League results

In girls elementary league action, Richards downed CSA Lincoln 33-8, Taylorsville defeated Clifty Creek 37-18, Schmitt beat Mount Healthy 20-10, Parkside triumphed over Southside 16-15, and Rockcreek prevailed over Smith 45-27.

In boys play, Richards beat CSA Lincoln 40-15, Taylorsville defeated Clifty Creek 27-7, Schmitt won a 38-33 decision against Mount Healthy, Southside defeated Parkside 40-22, and Rockcreek triumphed over Smith 33-19.

The Richards Raiders won the EBL regular season title in girls play with a 10-0 record. The Southside Mustangs were the boys champions, also with a 10-0 mark.


Jennings County  wrestlers

remain undefeated

The Jennings County seventh- and eighth-grade wrestling team defeated Parkview 89-27 to raise its record to 5-0.

Winning by pin for Jennings County were Dalton Craig, Nick South, Jacoby Trotter, Ethan Palmer, Chase Roll, Brandon Cummings, Cody King, William Anderson, Cody Graham, Sam Woolf, Brady Shepherd and Brendan Sutton. Winning by decision were Victor Manzanares, Zane Beineke, Hunter Ray, Brooks Wathen and Ramon Becker.

Reserve winners were Price Bennett, Tyler Simpson, Dalton Ferguson, Josh Rayburn, Rodger Watts, Steven Davers, Wyatt Ponsler, Patrick Hornaday, Dalton Ferguson, Bruce Stenert, Logan Allen, Seth Box, Jaylan Kirchner, Jesse Johnson and Tony Merry.
