COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Columbus Redevelopment Commission wants an overall financial picture of one of the downtown parking garages before deciding how to change its parking fees and management.
Laurence Brown, the Columbus Area Metropolitan Planning Organization director, and private consultant Gary Thompson were at the commission meeting Tuesday to talk about how to keep the garage east of the downtown Columbus post office, on Jackson Street, as full as possible through the week while still guaranteeing a space for visitors.
But Mayor Kristen Brown, a member of the commission, said it was premature to talk about the changes until someone could assemble a snapshot of the garage's current expenses and income as a launchpad for more discussion.
Laurence Brown said he hopes to get that before the meeting next month.
