Child survives near-drowning incident

A 3-year-old boy visiting family at the Quail Run apartment complex in Columbus survived a near-drowning incident at 12:15 p.m. Thursday.

The child was transported in stable condition to Columbus Regional Hospital after being revived at the pool side by his father, an apartment complex employee, and Columbus police and firefighters.

The child was conscious and alert after being revived, Capt. Mike Wilson, Columbus Fire Department spokesman said.
