Columbus city bus service will delay the start of its normal Saturday schedule Sept. 28 when the Mill Race Marathon is conducted. Buses that day will start running at 3 p.m. and end at the normal finish time of 7 p.m.
Cindy Setser, city transit system coordinator, said the bus depot, where routes begin and end, will be in a hectic spot, just a few blocks from the marathon’s start/finish lines and other downtown activities.
She also had concerns about keeping up with an on-time schedule during the early morning and afternoon Sept. 28 with various road closings and lane restrictions. Being a Saturday, however, fewer riders take the bus because not as many are heading to work or medical appointments.
