COLUMBUS - A Columbus resident, who according to federal officials has been deported to Mexico seven times, is being charged federally with illegal re-entry into the U.S. after an April fight in Ninth Street Park.
The office of the U.S. Attorney’s Southern Indiana District announced Wednesday that Moises Ortiz-Castenada, 28, faces up to two years in prison, a $250,000 fine and deportation.
The indictment against Ortiz-Castenada alleges that he was deported as an illegal alien from Arizona back to Mexico on May 16, 2002; June 18, 2002; July 18, 2002; Feb. 28, 2003; April 5, 2004; April 19, 2004; and April 1, 2005.
