A small, black bag containing a white powdery substance was found in a parking lot in the 2400 block of Central Avenue around 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
The citizen who found the bag suspected drugs and called the police. Officer Michael Beerwart responded to the call and, upon opening the bag, found multiple, corner-cut bags. Testing revealed the substance to be cocaine. The total weight of the drugs measured approximately one ounce, and according to Lt. Matt Myers, have an estimated street value of $3,000.
“We are committed to getting drugs off the street,” Myers said. “Obviously the way these drugs were packaged, they were intended for sale. The citizen who found this and reported it did the right thing.”
Don't settle for a preview.
