Columbus engineer honored for work

Follow The Republic:

Columbus resident John Boldt, a retired professional engineer, recently received the 2013-14 Outstanding Service to Engineering Award from the Calusa Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society.

Boldt was a member of the Naples/Fort Myers Florida Chapter for 21 years before retiring 12 years ago as the Collier County Stormwater Management Department Director. He moved to Columbus to be close to family.

The award was given to Boldt in part as recognition of his 36 short-term mission trips — including 26 to Haiti — to serve the poor as design team leader for Engineering Ministries International.
