A 34-year-old Columbus man has been arrested on drug charges following what the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department called a quick investigation.

Shawn K. Miller was arrested Wednesday on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana, illegal possession of drug precursors and illegal possession of more than 10 grams of psuedoephedrine.

“The investigation is continuing,” said Chief Deputy Todd Noblitt, sheriff’s department spokesman. “There may be additional charges and/or arrests.”

County narcotics officers made quick work of investigating and arresting Miller. Noblitt would not give specifics but said, “It wasn’t a prolonged investigation. Sometimes information just falls in your lap.”

County and state personnel dismantled the meth lab.

Miller was being held Thursday at the Bartholomew County Jail on $150,000 bond.
