Columbus man sentenced in battery

Jayson Chad-Allen George, 35, of Columbus, was sentenced this week to a total of 10 years in jail after being convicted for criminal confinement and strangulation in a domestic battery case that dates to January 2011.

George and his attorney plan to file an appeal in the case, court records show.

Bartholomew County Circuit Court Judge Stephen Heimann appointed attorney Jane Ann Noblitt as George's lawyer for the appeal. George was sentenced Tuesday.
