A Columbus teen was found dead early this morning at the bottom of a pool at a Florida condominium where he was vacationing with his family.
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office reports that Garrett Mabrey, 17, of Columbus, was found at the bottom of the pool at about 3:25 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff's office reported that Mabrey was last seen just before midnight by his family who was staying there while on vacation.
Deputies were called to the Crystal Sands Condominiums, Siesta Key, Fla., by the resident who found the victim at the bottom of the pool.
Detectives suspect the teen’s death was an accidental drowning but an autopsy will be performed to confirm the cause of death.
