Columbus teen dies in auto accident

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A teenage Columbus girl died from injuries suffered in a late-night, single-vehicle accident on a Bartholomew County Road.

Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department deputies responded at 11:47 p.m. Saturday to a traffic accident at the intersection of County Roads 550W and 250S, according to a sheriff's department media release. The vehicle was inverted and a female passenger was partially thrown from the vehicle and was unresponsive.

Upon arrival, deputies found a Chevrolet Trailblazer inverted and passenger Delanie V. Scroghan, 17, of Newton Street, deceased, the release said.
