Columbus has been named the nation's best metro area for economic and job growth.

Area Development Magazine, which covers how businesses select where they establish locations, ranked Columbus first among 365 metro areas. The magazine looked at 23 indicators including unemployment rates, per capita gross domestic product and inward migration of people with a bachelor's degree or higher.

The magazine's website lists among the factors that contribute to Columbus' success the architectural excellence, expansions by Cummins Inc. and Sunright America and manufacturing and design centers from Faurecia and Dorel Juvenile Group.
