Columbus woman injured in I-65 accident

A Columbus woman was injured in an accident on Interstate 65 at about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday after her car struck a spare tire in the roadway.

Kathleen Peterson, 69, Columbus was northbound on the interstate near Seymour when her vehicle struck the tire, causing her vehicle to flip over and skid down the interstate about 300 feet, according to Indiana State Police.

She was extricated from her 2014 Toyota Corolla and taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour for treatment of cuts and bruises. For more on this story, see Friday's Republic.
