MADISON — Despite being short several players, the Trinity Lutheran girls basketball team managed to pull out a 39-22 victory Monday at Shawe Memorial.

The host Hilltoppers led 6-2 after one quarter, but Trinity came to life in the second quarter and outscored the home team 16-2. The Cougars then won the final two quarters.

Allison Posey was the only double-figure scorer, leading Trinity with 16 points, and she had eight rebounds. Brianna Sons had eight points, and Hannah Barker pulled down a team-high nine rebounds to go along with her five points.

Thursday’s home game against Indianapolis Arlington has been canceled, so the Cougars’ next game is Saturday afternoon at Borden. Trinity is 8-7 on the season.
