Councilmen green light street repairs

A $3.5 million makeover this summer for Columbus' crumbling city streets has received its first green light.

Tuesday, city councilmen unanimously agreed to spend the money that Mayor Kristen Brown found in the city's general fund to pay for 13 miles of road repairs around the city.

The proposal also includes about $1 million in repairs to city concrete streets.
