EDINBURGH, Ind. — A crash on Interstate 65 near Edinburgh closed both southbound lanes of the highway last night, officials said.

The interstate was reopened at about 3:50 a.m., according to the Indiana State Police.

A semi-trailer overturned and its cargo, including a load of candy, took several hours to clean up but no one was seriously injured, according to officers. The crash was across from the rest stop south of Edinburgh, near the 72 mile marker.

During the highway closing, traffic was redirected to U.S. 31. Traffic was backed up for several miles during the incident.
