Hip-hop, the stylized rhythmic music that commonly accompanies rapping, could gain a bigger foothold in Columbus with some additional exposure.
At least that’s the hope of Rashaad Trapp, organizer of Saturday’s Cut Camp at the Crump.
“We make music, and we want to share it,” Trapp said. “I hope those who attend approach it with an open mind.”
Cut Camp is a crew of emcees, producers, DJs and creative individuals gathering for a night of hip-hop. Trapp, also known as BlackEddie, hopes individuals unfamiliar with hip-hop walk away with an appreciation for the art.
BlackEddie & 80 Owen host the event, which will feature performances by Hinx Jones and The Pro Forms.
Crump Theatre doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $7 at the door.
