BEDFORD — The Columbus East girls soccer team waited on the bus for about two hours for the weather to clear Tuesday night, but the delay didn’t seem to affect it.
The 17th-ranked Olympians scored seven times in the first half and went on to claim a 10-0 win at Bedford North Lawrence.
“I was a little bit concerned how we would react coming off the bus,” East coach Ilya Schwartzman said. “But we were as sharp as nails. Everything was working.”
Rachel Amlung and Molly Macy each scored two goals for the Olympians (6-0-1). Bailey Dowd, Molly Connor, Sydney Newell, Kylie Stattenfield, Olivia Smith and Kristen Bellinger all had one.
Bellinger and Hayden Lang each recorded two assists. Amlung, Sarah Klein, Stattenfield and Elisa Watkins all added one.
Bryn Eudy played the last few minutes of the first half and all of the second half in goal and recorded four saves. Spencer Eudy started in goal and posted one save.
