Follow The Republic:

Renaissance Dental Group of Columbus, with the help of dental students at Ivy Tech Community College — Columbus, will offer free cleanings, fillings and simple extractions from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

The event is open to anyone needing one of the services — no proof of income or insurance is required.

It is part of Dentistry From the Heart, a worldwide nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free dental care to those in need.

Patients must be at least 18 years of age, and arriving early is recommended.

The Ivy Tech students have been studying under Christy Ross, chair of the dental assisting program. They’ll be assisting Dr. Chris Miller and his staff of two dentists.
