A disciplinary hearing for former Columbus Fire Chief Gary Henderson that was scheduled for today has been postponed.
Henderson is on paid administrative leave pending the hearing regarding how he directed the profits from disposing of the fire department’s used motor oil while he was fire chief.
The hearing was postponed because Henderson’s attorneys needed adequate time to prepare, said Kelly Benjamin, Columbus city attorney.
Henderson is being represented by Edward Merchant and John Kautzman of the Indianapolis-based law firm Ruckelshaus, Kautzman, Blackwell, Bemis & Hasbrook.
The city has not rescheduled the hearing but is considering a date in late July or early August.
