A the arrival of October is the realization that Halloween is here.
For the young elementary students of Jennings County School Corp., this signifies the upcoming decision of what to dress up as.
But for our adrenaline-seeking high school students, it means the opening of several haunted houses, trails and mazes, the most popular being Fear Fair in Seymour.
There are some students, though, who would much rather scare than be scared: The drama students of Jennings County High School.
Year after year the drama students of Jennings County put together what is titled the Vernon Ghost Walk.
Those who attend are walked through Vernon, listening and watching the interpreted legends of historical Vernon, the most popular being “Bloody Mary.”
Drama students put forth their best acting skills, accompanied by props and costumes, in an honest effort to strike fear into the hearts of the attendees.
Unlike Fear Fair, the ghost walk is tolerable for all ages, including the elementary students.
The walk will be Friday and Saturday in Vernon.
Makenzie Caldwell is a senior at Jennings County High School.
