COLUMBUS, Ind. — Police said they have received conflicting statements from the motorists involved in a traffic accident last week that sent one of the drivers to an Indianapolis hospital with serious injuries.

Mark Jessie, 43, of Rosedale Drive, was released in good condition Sunday from IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Jessie was driving a sport-style motorcycle around 2:30 p.m. Thursday on Herman Darlage Drive when his motorcycle and a pickup truck collided.

The truck's driver, Anita Holley, 66, of Ukiah, Calif., was not injured.

Police have completed their investigation and collected physical evidence, but the two drivers have given conflicting statements about how the accident occurred, said Sgt. Matt Harris, a spokesman for the Columbus Police Department.

No witnesses were available to provide an account to police. Officers are not seeking criminal charges against either driver, and no citations have been issued, Harris said.

The police report will include both drivers' statements and will be available to their insurance companies to determine who was at fault.
