An increased police patrol of the Ninth Street Park and surrounding neighborhood led to the arrest Friday of a Clifford woman on drug-related charges.
About 10:42 a.m., Patrolman Troy Love was patrolling Ninth Street Park, near Ninth and Wilson streets, when he saw a woman sitting on a park bench who appeared to be intoxicated or having a medical problem, said Lt. Matt Myers, public information officer for the Columbus Police Department.
Love contacted the woman and determined that she was under the influence of drugs, Myers said. During a search, Love found methamphetamine pills that were a controlled substance and a syringe, Myers said.
