Duke reports that power has been restored in downtown Columbus

Duke Energy reported at 3:30 p.m. that power has been restored to downtown customers who had an outage beginning at about 2:15 p.m.

An equipment failure has been listed as the cause, according to the power company.

Duke was investigating calls on about 100 customers without service.

Duke officials are asking customers to call 1-800-343-3525 to report any further outages.
