NASHVILLE — Brown County volleyball coach Julie Owens wasn’t sure what to expect with so many new players, but the Eagles opened the season Wednesday night with a 25-8, 25-18, 18-25, 25-16 win against Triton Central.
“I have a lot of girls that are stepping on the floor as varsity players for the first time, and the way they handled the first game showed some real maturity,” Owens said. “They handled it well and did a lot of good things.”
Liz Jackson recorded seven kills and eight blocks, and Bri Harper had 16 assists and three aces to lead Brown County. Maddi Taylor added 10 digs.
“Especially because we have four games this week, that’s how we wanted to kick things off and get the week going,” Owens said.
